Head pastor and General Overseer of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare has warned that it will be difficult to disband vigilante or militia groups if they turn out into rebel groups that seek to spread their violent and extremist ideologies.

According to him, actions by these vigilante or militia groups can be tracked to the inception of the 4th republic in 1992 where politicians protect their ballot boxes with macho men.

This, he said, has “evolve through faces of ugliness through to 2009 and reached the climax in 2017. “This situation is further threatened by the emergence of sponsored and trained armed groups belonging to the two main political parties, NPP and N.D.C. Bishop Agyinasare noted that actions of these vigilante groups in Ghana are conspiracies to commit political crimes, which will give an advantage to their respective political parties.

He described the actions of these groups as unrefined, cruel, illegal and unacceptable which is not consistent with Ghana’s civilisation.
